How To Make Money From eBay

Millions of People are making money using eBay and this section will let you know how to us eBay to make some serious money from buying to selling all the tips will be listed.

For those of you not familiar with eBay it is an online auction website similar to a conventional auction house but in the comfort of your own home. People (me included) have made and are making money selling unwanted items from our cluttered lives and there is no limit from what you can sell and others will buy.

Selling your unwanted CD's or clothes is a nice way to make bit of money rather than just throwing them away but you are never going to make a living from it.
Some people have taken this to a stage further and buy things to sell on eBay from places such as markets, house sales or on Ebay itself.

To do this requires a bit of knowledge but with a little research to find out what a particular item is worth and what items sell well. For example if you can find an item that usually sells well for a good price but has been listed on eBay poorly with next to no description and with either no photos or photos that have been so badly taken that it is difficult to see what the item looks like.

If you buy this item and market it well with good photos, in the correct category and a good description then you should be able to make a good profit on the item. The more you do this then the more confidence you will gain.

You will not however make much money if the items you are buying and selling are in a very popular and competitive area so you will have to find yourself an niche market. One source estimated that over 80,000 people in the USA are making a living just doing this.

Drop Shipping

The above method can be a lot of work and is a bit risky especially if the item either does not sell or sell for enough to cover your costs.

Dropshippers are used by people who want to make money from selling things but do not want the risk of having to keep stock and do not want the hassle of going to the post office to do the deliveries. How it works is that you list the items on eBay (or on your own website) and if the item sells you tell the dropshipper the details of the customer and they will then deliver the item to the customer so you have very little to do.

In practice it works like this, you find something you want to sell (a search on Google will bring up lots of dropshippers). So you want to sell good quality digital cameras and you list them on eBay with a starting bid of £80 with a £5 delivery charge. If someone buys the camera and then pays you via Paypal you then let the dropshipper know the customer details so they can ship the goods. You are then billed by the dropshipper for £50 for the camera & £5 for the P&P.

You have now made £30 profit (minus eBay listing fees) for very little work and have had no risk of being left with stock you cannot sell as you only buy from the dropshipper once the item has sold on ebay.
